Branson 2012-Christmas Update
The Branson 2012-Christmas season has begun with the Veterans Day Parade ending a busy Veterans week in Branson commemorating their sacrifice for America. Veterans Week has become a busy and fun time for Branson and the Veteran. We look forward to next year's activities.
Though the Christmas season officially started on
November 1, the Ozark Mountain Christmas is now in full swing.
Branson 2012-Christmas
Branson is a great place to be during the Christmas
season with shows, light tours, shopping, dining and a fun happy atmosphere.
The hills are aglow with Christmas lights and several light tours and special
Christmas lighting scenes are available. The manger scene on Mount Branson
across Lake Taneycomo from Downtown Branson is lit before the Branson Christmas
Parade on December 2nd. This is a great time to grab a hot chocolate or Wassail
and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere in downtown Branson.
There are a couple of car light tours that are
magnificent and reasonably priced by individual, carload or bus load. The
"Branson Area Festival of Lights" is located just south of the Sight
& Sound Theater and off of Shepherd of the Hills Expressway.
The 2nd one is a 2
½ mile tour around the side of the mountain at the Shepherd of the Hills
Homestead. This beautiful display aptly named the "Trail of Lights"
ends with a stop at Inspiration Tower where you can take an elevator to the top
and look out over the Branson area. A stop at Aunt Mollie's Mercantile will top
off the evening with a Hot Chocolate or Hot Cider. The Trail of Lights tour has
been featured on the Travel Channel.
To really get into
the Christmas spirit before you hit the Trail of Lights, I can't think of a
better way than to relax to the popular "Christmas on the Trail Chuckwagon
Dinner Show" at the Shepherd of the Hills Pavilion. The harmonies of these
performers will move you into the spirit of Christmas. The show is so highly
acclaimed it has been featured on PBS. You can see a brief video on both the

And If you want to see a few million Christmas lights in
one place along with shows, shopping, rides and of course a great Christmas
atmosphere you'll want to visit Silver Dollar City's Old Time Christmas. Entry
into the park will get you a special Christmas feeling for the whole family.

Most of the attractions in Branson will be open
throughout December and many of them will have a Christmas theme. One of the
great family attractions to visit during the Christmas season is the Titanic

Though some shows and end their season after the first
week in December, you may be surprised at the many shows that extend the season
through the end of the year. We thought it might be helpful to list those shows
that will be open the 2nd, 3rd & 4th week of December.
If you are looking for a great place to spend New Year's
Eve, you'll have a great time in Branson. We have specified those shows with a
New Year's Eve Party in the final week of this list. And if you want something
besides a show there are parties throughout Branson at Hotels, Resorts,
Restaurants and more.
